Courtney Holbrook

Welcome! I am a DONA certified Birth & Postpartum Doula and Child Birth Educator for Emmet, Otsego and Charlevoix Counties . I offer services such as emotional, physical and spiritual support to  birthing parents and families during childbirth and postpartum period. My goal is to help you establish a birth plan that will provide a nurturing, caring, supportive environment for you during the amazing life-event of childbirth.

Each of my birth's were unique in their own way. Sawyer's birth was epic. Due May 8th, 2022 I was excited for the possibility of giving birth on my father's birthday however, nature had other plans. My water broke March 9. WHAT is happening? Tears! Fear! I was 31 weeks. 31 weeks!!! When I arrived at the hospital it was very clear the plan was to try and keep me pregnant for as long as possible (goal 32 weeks) I labored on and off for over a week. We made it! He was born at 32.5 weeks. Without my previous experiences with my Doula (her words resignating in my head) and my midwife during my second labor/delivery I wouldn't have made it through this birth.  I was able with an amnioinfusion to deliver our sweet boy naturally. I am so thankful for our positive outcome. He was healthy and only had to stay in NICU for two weeks. I will add that Traverse City Muson OB staff was amazing as well as the entire NICU staff.

Need a consult?

Now accepting Medicaid as well as managed care plans and private pay! Contracts include up to three prenatal visits, labor/delivery and up to three postpartum visits as well as phone/text support.  It is my goal to honor all birthing people and their right to a nurturing, calm life transition into parenthood.  Contact me about your future birth! I look forward to hearing from you!
